What does my pass type give me access to?

What are the event registration opening hours?

There are two onsite Registration Areas: the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) Entrance Hall 2 (North) & Entrance Hall 3 (East). Entrance Hall 3 (East) is mainly for Conference registration.

What currencies do you accept?

Payment will be accepted in U.S. Dollars (USD) or Chinese Yuan (RMB) for the All Exhibition Pass, Gold Pass and VIP Pass.

What are the payment methods?

We accept MasterCard, Visa or American Express, bank/wire transfers as well as Alipay and WeChat Pay. Online banking options via China UnionPay are accepted for RMB payments (JCB is also accepted for RMB payments. RMB online payment portals available in Chinese language only).

How can I pay by bank/wire transfer?

Wire transfers are available for USD and RMB payments for purchasing any pass type.

In order to pay by bank/wire transfer you will need to select ‘Continue to Payment’ option when registering.

Please allow enough time for your bank/wire transfer payment to be completed, as processing can take up to ten working days. If the transfer has not cleared prior to your arrival onsite you will be expected to supply an alternate form of payment. Badges will not be handed out without full pre-payment of registration fees.

Please note: Approximately 10 days prior to the event, the option to pay by bank/wire transfer will be removed in order to allow time for payments to be received.

I have received more than one invitation to attend, what should I do?

You only need to register once to attend Mobile World Congress Shanghai. If you have already registered and you receive an invitation for a pass which provides you with access to more at the event than your current registration, please contact registration@mwcshanghai.com.

Is there a minimum age to attend Mobile World Congress Shanghai?

Yes. The minimum age for an attendee accessing the Industry Halls is 16. This is strictly enforced.

As a leading mobile event in the region, Mobile World Congress Shanghai aims to showcase the trend in mobile and various cutting-edge products, technologies and applications, while providing networking platform and business opportunities for the industry players and users. GSMA also welcomes mobile enthusiasts to enjoy and experience at Mobile World Congress Shanghai. We set up the age restriction to ensure a professional atmosphere for our attendees and exhibitors.

What is the Cancellation or Substitution Policy?

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Cancellations, as well as ‘no shows’, will be liable for the full registration fee. No refunds shall be given. Cancellation of travel reservation and hotel reservation are the exclusive responsibility of the registrant, irrespective of reason or cause.

Substitutions between attendees from the same company and at the same invoice address may be made by providing the GSMA with written notice of the name of the original attendee and full details of the substitute attendee.

To arrange a substitution, please e-mail full details to registration@mwcshanghai.com. Please quote “Pass Substitution MWC SHANGHAI 2018” in the subject line of the e-mail. The new attendee will automatically be emailed a Confirmation email once the process has been completed. Please note that this might take a few days to complete.

Once a badge has been issued onsite, substitutions are no longer allowed.

Will you mail me my badge prior to arrival?

We do not send out badges prior to arrival, nor do we allow third-party badge collections. Each attendee must present Photo ID, business card and pick up their own badge on site. Acceptable forms of Photo ID are a passport, national ID card or driving license with photo.

Can I collect a badge on behalf of my colleague?

No, we do not allow third party badge collections. You must collect your own badge in person.

You will need to bring a copy of your final confirmation email and Photo ID (passport, national ID card or driving license with photo) to collect your badge onsite. This applies to all registered badge holders.

Can I register onsite?

Yes you can, however we strongly recommend that you register before arrival to avoid queues when you arrive.

Who can attend Conference Lunch?

Only VIP Pass holders are entitled to the Conference Lunch. Information on passes can be found here.

What is Mobile World Live, and how can I join?

Mobile World Live is the online portal that serves as the voice of the mobile communications industry. Through our growing community base, you can connect with mobile enthusiasts and professionals worldwide. Mobile World Live video content is updated weekly and brings you exclusive interviews with some of the top mobile executives in the world.

If you want to join this online community now, visit www.mobileworldlive.com or log in to your registration account, click on “Update your personal information / contact preferences”, select ‘Yes’, select your language preference and then “Continue”.

Can I print (or reprint) my registration invoice?

To print your invoice, click here to access your registration account, then select “Download your invoice/receipt”.

Chinese Fapiao will be issued to RMB payment only. You may apply for an e-fapiao or a paper fapiao in your registration account after your registration and payment have been completed.

I would like to purchase more than 10 passes. Is that possible?

Group Purchase is available on our registration page. Select ‘Group Purchase’ and follow the instructions to complete the registration process.

I don’t have an e-mail account to register. What should I do?

Those wishing to attend Mobile World Congress Shanghai must have a valid e-mail account in order to register.

Once you have successfully registered, your confirmation, key updates and information on where to collect your badge will be e-mailed to you prior to the event.

Is there a deadline for registration?

We do not have a deadline for registering for Mobile World Congress Shanghai. However, if you are an overseas visitor, please make sure you leave enough time as you may be required to apply for a visa to enter China. Therefore, we highly recommend that you complete your registration as early as possible.

When will I receive a registration confirmation?

Once the registration is completed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation (Final Confirmation). Your Final Confirmation email must be brought with you onsite to collect your badge. Only fully paid registrations will be sent a Final Confirmation e-mail.

How can I change my contact details after I have registered?

You can sign in to your registration account at any time to view your registration and to update your personal details (Attendee e-mail address and Last Name cannot be changed). You can access your details by logging in with your user name and password provided when you first registered.

I have forgotten my password. What should I do?

If you have forgotten your password, visit the registration website, click on “Forgot Password?” and enter the email address you used to register.

I receive an invitation to attend. What should I do?

If you have received an invitation to attend, a Registration or Discount Code will be shown in the invitation e-mail, along with instructions on how to complete the registration process using this code. Please refer to that email before beginning the registration process.

How do I register to attend?

To register, follow the steps below:

  • To begin your registration click here.
  • Select a Pass Type; OR if you have received an invitation to attend and have a Registration / Discount Code, copy the Code into “I have a code” field and click “Apply Code”.
  • Follow the instructions to complete your registration in full.
  • Accept the Event Terms & Conditions.
  • You will then receive your registration acknowledgement by e-mail.

Do I require a visa to enter China?

The Chinese government recommends you reach out to your local Chinese Embassies or Consulates-General first for travel information. In addition, they provide this information on Chinese visa requirements.

How do I obtain a visa invitation letter?

GSMA’s registration partner can provide you with a visa invitation letter for you to submit along with your visa application, should this be required. After registering the Event, you can sign in at any time to request a visa invitation letter through Registration Home. Please note your registration needs to be complete and full payment must be received before your visa invitation letter will be issued.

Neither the GSMA nor our registration partner takes responsibility for the issuance of visas. It is the responsibility of attendees to ensure they allow sufficient time for the processing the invitation or visa prior to travel to the event.

If you do not require a visa, please do not apply for visa support. We will not issue visa invitations to attendees from nations which do not require one.

  • We are unable to provide assistance with visa applications beyond supplying the invitation letter.
  • Only fully paid and/or complimentary registrations will be granted visa invitation letters.

I have received my visa invitation letter but found some information to be incorrect, what should I do?

How do I register as Press/Analyst?

If you are a member of the press (including industry analysts) and would like to attend Mobile World Congress Shanghai, please click here.

Media professionals wishing to attend Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2018 should review the accreditation criteria in order to facilitate the registration process. For questions regarding press registration, contact a member of the GSMA Press team.

Once you have applied for accreditation, your application will be reviewed by the GSMA Press team and you will be notified by e-mail if your application is successful or not.

GSMA Member Discounts

GSMA Members are eligible to receive a 30% discount on VIP, Gold and ‘All Exhibition Pass’ for Mobile World Congress Shanghai. The Organisation ID is required before you begin your registration to receive the discount. Please do not begin registration until you have your Organisation ID at hand.

  • Log into InfoCentre2.
  • Click on “My Organisation”.
  • The Organisation ID can be found underneath the Organisation Name and Company introduction.
  • In order to receive your discount, you must supply your Organisation ID prefixed with ‘MWCS’ during registration (i.e. if your Org ID is 12345, enter ‘MWCS12345’, if your Org ID is less than 5 digit, i.e Org ID is 12, enter ‘MWCS00012’ into the code box on the first step of the registration process).

What is Experience Pass?

The Experience Pass provides access to Migu Health and Fitness Festival at SNIEC Hall W4.

Migu Health and Fitness Festival is a fitness-for-all event targeting the entire sports industry and all sports enthusiasts by using customised strategies, with professionalism, fun and trendiness as its focus. The variety of exciting activities is an attempt to straddle the boundaries of sports, technology and trends, fully presenting the novel concept of national fitness.

What area can I access to?

The Experience Pass provides access to Migu Health and Fitness Festival at SNIEC Hall W4.

What is the price of Experience Pass?

Is there an age restriction for the Experience Pass?

Attendees who are under sixteen (16) years of age will be given a Youth Experience Pass wristband at the Venue (no pre-registration is required). Attendees who are under sixteen (16) years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the Event.

What is the Cancellation or Substitution Policy?

You are responsible for cancellation of travel and hotel reservations if you do not attend the Event.

Is there a deadline for registration?

We do not have a deadline for registering for the Experience Pass. This pass is also available for registration onsite. However, to avoid long queues onsite, we recommend that you complete your registration as early as possible, before arriving.

I don’t have a mobile phone and an e-mail account to register. What should I do?

Those interested in an Experience Pass must have a valid mobile phone number and a valid e-mail account with which to register.

Once you have successfully registered, your confirmation will be sent to you via SMS and/or email.

When will I receive a registration confirmation?

You will receive a confirmation SMS and/or email within 48 hours after your registration is successfully received.

How do I obtain a visa invitation letter?

We do not provide visa application letters for the Experience Pass.

If you would require a visa application letter to enter China, we recommend you register for a VIP, Gold or All Exhibition Pass. For passes and prices information, please click here.

How do I register?

Anyone wishing to attend the event must register, including registration coordinators, using the GSMA Exhibitor & Partner (E&P) Invitation System. To invite guests or register your own staff, you will need to access the GSMA Exhibitor & Partner (E&P) Invitation System.

How can I invite or register my staff and guests?

Exhibitors and Sponsors have been contacted by e-mail with information on how to access the GSMA Exhibitor & Partner (E&P) Invitation System, which enables you to manage your allocation of passes. You will be able to invite attendees to register, or register your own staff, guests, VIPs and contractors.

Partners who do not have access to the Online Event Manual will be contacted directly by the GSMA Partnership team with further information.

I am working on/at a stand. Do I need to register?

Yes, all attendees, exhibitors and event participants must register. Please contact the Registration Coordinator of the Exhibitor or Partner for whom you are working. They should provide you with a Registration Code and instructions on how to register or confirm your registration has been completed.
