Francesco Lentini

Born 62 years ago, I’m one of the pioneers of chatbots, virtual assistants and what is now called Conversational AI (there is a little quotation on the Italian version of Wikipedia: as you can see, my Eloisa is in third place, after Eliza and Parry).

For most of my life I have been a professional programmer and freelance journalist. I created the virtual character Eloisa in 1992 and I immediately presented her to the Press (great success, on paper and 300 baud modems).

In 2007, I presented an algorithm that marks the transition from the syntax to the semantics level and transforms Eloisa into a Conversational AI (please note that Siri is dated 2010-2011).

In January 2018, I founded Eloisa Technologies with a native Moroccan girl and her Egyptian roommate, with the intent to create the first virtual assistant speaking the Arabic language (natively, not through Google Translator).
